With hotly-anticipated new streaming media services set to pop up left and right in the coming months, there has been some uneasiness surrounding Netflix lately. Most or even all of it was erased on Wednesday afternoon, however, when Netflix announced third-quarter earnings and crushed the Street’s estimates. EPS climbed to $1. 47 compared to earnings of $0. 89 per share in the year-ago quarter, and revenue climbed to $5. 25 billion from $3. 91 billion in the third quarter last year. But the biggest news may have been the addition of 6. 77 million new paying subscribers over the course of the quarter, which is a big bounce back from a disappointing second quarter. Despite the impending launches of Apple TV+ on November 1st, Disney+ on November 12th, and HBO Max early next year, Netflix has proven that it can still attract new customers to its ever-expanding catalog of streaming movies, shows, and specials. That said, global growth in markets outside of the United States could prove to be crucial in the coming years — while overall Q3 subscriber additions beat estimates, Netflix only added about 500, 000 new subscribers in the US despite estimates that were north of 800, 000. It was a big miss, though it was still seen as a victory by many industry watchers since Netflix actually lost US subscribers in the prior quarter. Long story short, Netflix is in a good place right now. The company is obviously well aware that more competition is coming, but it doesn’t seem to be overly concerned about the longterm impact on its business. “Many are focused on the ‘streaming wars, ’ but we’ve been competing with streamers (Amazon, YouTube, Hulu) as well as linear TV for over a decade, ” Netflix said in a statement. “The upcoming arrival of services like Disney+, Apple TV+, HBO Max, and Peacock is increased competition, but we are all small compared to linear TV. While the new competitors have some great titles (especially catalog titles), none have the variety, diversity, and quality of new original programming that we are producing around the world. ” CEO Reed Hastings downplayed the widely reported threat that new streaming services pose, saying that none of the new services like Disney+ and HBO Max represent a “big change” in the competitive landscape. “We’re all relatively small compared to linear TV, ” Hastings noted on the company’s third-quarter earnings call. “So we’re not really competing with each other, but with broadcast. ” That’s certainly optimistic, but there’s plenty of truth in Hastings’ optimism. Netflix has indeed battled with tough competition like Hulu and Amazon in the past, and it has come out on top each time thanks to massive investments in content that cannot be found on any other streaming platforms. The company continues to invest billions in original content, and as any Netflix subscriber will tell you, original content is the biggest draw to the service. Of course, not all original content appeals to all subscribers, and there is one complaint we see all the time. Image Source: Netflix Netflix caters to subscribers in many regions around the world, and its customers in each region might speak several different languages. For example, the Spanish-language action series Money Heist has been tremendously popular here in the US, and other non-English content has been popular as well. The fact that Netflix streams content in many languages is fantastic, of course, but many subscribers take issue with the way it’s presented. When you browse content on your home screen in Netflix, there is no indication whatsoever if the show or movie you’re looking at is in English until you start watching it, until you click on it and read the notes after the description, or at least until the trailer auto-plays (if you want to stop that annoying auto-play feature, by the way, check out this free plugin). Are you tired of finding promising content only to discover that it’s in another language? Don’t worry, there’s actually a secret trick that will let you browse only English-language content on Netflix. It really couldn’t be easier — just bookmark this page. It’s a special page on Netflix’s site that most people don’t know about, and it looks like this: As you can see near the top of the screen, this page lets you browse only the content on Netflix where the audio is in English. You can then sort by “suggestions for you, ” release date, or alphabetically. It’s not a perfect solution since it would obviously be nice to drill down even further and browse English-language content in specific categories, but hey, it’s certainly better than nothing. Also of note, you can obviously click the language drop-down and select any language you’d like so you only see Netflix content with audio (or subtitles, if you want) in the language of your choice. Was I the only one after watching this video decided to never give birth? Just me ok. Courtesy/Getty Images If you limit yourself to just English language films, you'll miss out on some of the best work out there. Much of the world's most innovative cinema comes from beyond our borders—and it's been this way from the medium's birth. Not sure where to start? Never fear—below, we've gathered a list of 26 foreign films that have stood the test of time. 1 La Jetée Not only is this short film not in English—it's hardly even a film, by the technical definition. Instead, legendary director Chris Marker has strung together a series of stills, linked together by narration and music. Sure, it's out there, but La Jetée will stay with you long after you've seen it—just ask the generations of filmmakers it's inspired since its release. 2 Amélie For those skeptical of delving into the foreign film canon, Amélie is a great movie to start with. It's nearly impossible not to fall in love with the titular lead, and any indulgent directorial choices come with a heavy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor. 3 The Lives Of Others It's hard to feel sympathy for an East German secret police agent surveilling peoples' private lives, but somehow, The Lives of Others makes it happen. The officer finds himself caring for those he's watching, and begins to intervene in their lives, even when it comes at a risk to himself. 4 Solaris Based on the visionary novel from Polish author Stanislaw Lem, Solaris follows a psychologist sent to a faraway space station to investigate the cause of the crew's sudden insanity. Buckle in, this one gets a little trippy. 5 Spirited Away Legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki has created many a masterpiece, but it's Spirited Away that's often tipped as his greatest work. It's not hard to see why. Every frame reveals more of the film's fantastical world, introducing creatures and spirits so entrancing they deserve their own spin-offs. And amidst all of the sumptuous aesthetics, it never loses the thread, taking the audience on captivating a journey from start to finish. 6 Pan's Labyrinth Another legend in the canon of fantastical cinema, Pan's Labyrinth made what might have been sidelined as a "genre" film into a piece of movie history. And because it often relied on make-up and old-school cinematic trickery rather than always leaning on special effects, it's aged far better than many supernatural movies of its era. 7 Metropolis Metropolis is such a fixture that even if you've never seen it, it's hard to avoid a glimpse of its iconic stills and posters. Plus, for those who dread reading subtitles, a silent foreign film may be just what the doctor ordered. 8 8 1/2 Films about filmmaking have been around for about as long as the medium itself. And one of the best in the genre came along in 1963, courtesy of the beloved Federico Fellini. In 8 1/2, we watch a director (partly based on Fellini) at a loss for what to make next. His writer's block leads the plot to turn inward, exploring the lead's fantasies, memories, and nightmares. 9 Playtime In 1967, a latent fear of advancing technology had already begun to take hold. With Playtime, director Jacques Tati projects that reality on to the screen—but chooses to embrace its absurdity and humor rather than wallowing in anxiety. 10 Hiroshima Mon Amour Alain Resnais's first feature film is one for the history books. Hiroshima Mon Amour centers on a romance between a French actress and a Japanese architect, taking place in postwar Hiroshima. Structured by celebrated writer Marguerite Duras's screenplay, the result is a meditation on public and private trauma. 11 In the Mood for Love Wong Kar-Wai's moody, sumptuous style is evident throughout In the Mood for Love. The story follows two married couples in neighboring apartments. After learning that each of their spouses is cheating on them, two neighbors form an intimate bond. 12 Persona An actress suffers a psychological break, and is moved to a seaside home to rehabilitate under the supervision of a nurse. Aside from that, much of Ingmar Bergman's landmark film is up for interpretation—and all the better for it. 13 Breathless French New Wave classic Breathless tells the story of a ne'er-do-well who, in a panic, kills a policeman. He turns to his girlfriend, an American exchange student, for help. But as she learns more about her beau's transgressions, she may not stay loyal. 14 Close-Up Fact and fiction blend so thoroughly in Close-Up, they seem impossible to untangle. The film re-stages a real event, in which a man impersonated a famous director, with everyone playing themselves. The results are somewhat mind-bending, and have earned the film a spot in the cinematic canon. 15 Cléo from 5 to 7 In an industry dominated by men, Agnès Varda has carved out a space for herself—and made it unabashedly women-centric. Cléo from 5 to 7 follows a woman during her two-hour wait for the results of a biopsy, showing her grapple with her anxiety and uncertainty in real time. 16 Persepolis The graphic novel on which Persepolis is based is worth experiencing on its own, but the movie adaptation is just as unmissable. Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical story sheds light on life in Iran during the Islamic Revolution, but is also an endearing portrait of a girl coming of age. 17 Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown With Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Pedro Almodóvar gifts us a romantic comedy for people who hate romantic comedies. Like much of Almodóvar's work, it's all very deliciously despicable. 18 The 400 Blows François Truffaut's debut film tells the story of his own childhood, from his neglectful parents and harsh schoolteachers to his run-ins with the law. 19 Rashomon In this film, director Akira Kurosawa presents four different peoples' accounts of one gruesome crime. The result is a stunning psychological thriller, which paved the way for Western audiences' growing interest in Japanese cinema. 20 A Separation Set in contemporary Iran, A Separation paints a visceral portrait of a failing marriage. 21 Fanny and Alexander The last feature film from the inimitable Ingmar Bergman, Fanny and Alexander was conceived as "the sum total of my life as a filmmaker, " according to the man himself. It's also perhaps his most accessible work—and therefore a good place to start diving in to his oeuvre. 22 Ghost in the Shell Not only is the animation beautiful, filled with detailed cityscapes and future-punk imaginings, but Ghost in the Shell 's themes continue to resonate. As we inch closer to developing artificial intelligence—and consider augmenting our bodies with technological tweaks—this film remains an ever more valuable meditation on the blurry line between human and machine. 23 Y Tu Mamá También Y Tu Mamá También gives the on-the-road buddy comedy a heartfelt, intimate twist. It's among Alfonso Cuarón's earlier work, but it hardly feels undeveloped. 24 Laurence Anyways Laurence Anyways presents ten years in the life of a couple, one half of whom transitions from male to female. The film follows the pair as they struggle through the process, both together and apart. 25 Roma Alfonso Cuarón's Roma is a top awards season contender, beloved for its touching portrayal of Cuarón's former nanny's life. And it's on Netflix, so there's no reason not to press play right now. I read the book and counted the days: Edward and Bella know each other for 27 days (day 27 is the day they kind of get into a relationship) when they start saying things like “You are my life”. Also, from these 27 days they only actually verbally interact for like 20 days (if I counted right) so yeah. I think thats kinda weird, but its up to everyone to decide for themselves 🤷‍♀️ (Please excuse my bad grammar, English is not my native language) The book ends on day 34, then theres a time skip to when they go to prom- just in case someone wanted to know.

Streaming film english language twilight book. Streaming film english language twilight english. I have read the books.
I think Robert Pattinson is an excellent Edward Cullen.
I do agree with most people who are disappointed by the storyline. It seemed like Bella went from being confused about Edwards dislike for her to being totally in love with him - that quickly. The book draws you into more of the development about why these two were so drawn to each other and the movie definitely lacks that.
I loved, loved, LOVED Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen - he absolutely did it for me. Something about they way he phrased things and delivered his lines made me absolutely feel like that is what Edward would say and that is EXACTLY how Edward would say it.
Bella was less convincing, but I cannot blame Kristen Stewart; she was probably handed a bum and unconvincing story line that did not help create the being that is Bella Swan.
I thoroughly enjoyed the baseball scene, Alice was truly Alice for me, Rosalie was just as convincing. Jasper seemed very constipated and did nothing for me; neither did Emmett. Esme was Esme for me. I think the casting was pretty good; I just wish the storyline had been better.
Jacob was okay; there was more of a tortured relationship between Bella and Jasper that I would have preferred to see on the screen.
I have to give it a low score though because it just didn't translate that well for me to the big screen and I can only hope they do much better with the sequels.
